Few states in America reach the towering heights of the Front Range in Colorado, with 58 peaks in excess of 14,000 feet (out of 96 in just all of America), though that statement also applies to the Centennial Stateβs populace.
Thatβs because Colorado is among the states with the tallest residents in the country, ranking in a tie with Kansas and Idaho for ninth nationally with an average height of 5 feet, 7.4 inches across the board.
To get that data, BetColorado.com took a beat from Colorado sportsbooks and used World Population Review to gather the average height of residents of each state in the United States β which created a Top 10 tallest states.

Across America, the tallest states are Montana and Utah, which measure in at 5 feet, 7.7 inches apiece, beating out a host of states that averaged out to 5 feet, 7.5 inches.
That collective included states like Minnesota, Oregon, North Dakota, Alaska, Iowa and South Dakota β all of whom have well established connections with height thanks to their statesβ ties to things like dairy and good diet.
Colorado rounds out the American height list alongside their easterly neighbor and the land of potatoes at 5 feet, 7.4 inches, speaking to the fact that height in the Rocky Mountain State isnβt limited to the mystical mountain chain that cuts through the heart of the region.
For reference, across America, the average height of men is 5 feet, 9 inches and 5 feet, 3.5 inches for women, averaging out to 5 feet, 6.25 inches across the board for the two genders.
