The age-old adage that the rich get richer couldn’t ring truer for teams competing in the National League West, as the defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers enter 2025 with one of the best farm systems in baseball a year after winning the division by five games.
The Dodgers have won the NL West three years in a row and 11 times in the last dozen seasons, with two championships during that span, including the COVID-shortened 2020 campaign.
This year, Los Angeles enters the year with the best odds of winning the West on DraftKings Sportsbook Colorado, at -350, ranking miles ahead of the other three teams, with the San Diego Padres (+400), Arizona Diamondbacks (+1000), San Francisco Giants (+3000) and Colorado Rockies (+25000) rounding out the list.
Spring Training games are just a bit over a month away. As Colorado sports betting fans are getting ready for the season, BetColorado.com was curious which teams in the NL West have the greatest potential for success in the coming years based on each franchise’s farm system. Using MLB.com, FanGraphs.com, and Baseball-Reference.com, we created a ranking system factoring in the average future value of the top 10 prospects for each team, overall farm system ranking, and number of players in the top 100 prospects.
