With the NHL trade deadline approaching on Friday, it’s high time for teams on the bubble of the league’s postseason to make up their minds on which way they want to go, with clubs like the Colorado Avalanche occupying one of the final playoff spots as of now.
The Avs’ enter the league’s stretch run with 74 points, ranking as the top wild card team in the conference, seven points ahead of the Calgary Flames and nine points ahead of the next closest club (the Vancouver Canucks), though that doesn’t mean that GM Joe Sakic won’t make a move between now and the end of the week.
With the NHL trade deadline looming, Casey Mittelstadt is potentially going to be traded by the Colorado Avalanche. BetColorado.com developed odds projecting where he will land using our Colorado sports betting experts.

Where Does Casey Mittelstadt Go Next?
For now, we’re giving Mittelstadt +200 odds of either riding it out with the Avalanche or landing with another team entirely, while the top contender to land him is the Flames, at +500, just ahead of the Canucks (+550), New York Islanders and the Ottawa Senators (+650 each).
Throw in the lone longshot candidate in the Toronto Maple Leafs at +1150 and you have the Mittelstadt trade odds board covered, as the veteran center of 419 NHL games awaits his fate in the Mile High City. It’s worth noting that Mittelstadt has another year on his three-year contract, paying him $5.750 million before he becomes an unrestricted free agent in 2027, potentially motivating Sakic and company to keep their talented center in town long term.
For now, what we know is that Colorado has two days left to make up their minds on whether they’re riding with Mittelstadt or not, as the Avalanche join countless NHL teams in trying to weigh out which players are staying in town versus hitting the road before the deadline comes and goes on Friday.
