Given today’s digital-first world of apps and devices, it’s a bit harder in 2024 to meet that special somebody than in years past when you could mingle with coworkers or connect with someone in a physical place.
Given that lack of connection space, it’s no surprise that more Americans of all ages are remaining single longer than in the past, though it’s not all bad news for the country's bachelors and bachelorettes.
In cities like Denver, at least those single people have championship caliber sports teams to root for, with the Colorado Avalanche Stanley Cup title odds looking better by the day and the Denver Nuggets title window remaining wide open in LoDo.
National Singles Day is Nov. 11. To see what states are ideal for singles, BetColorado.com wanted to pause our Colorado sports betting coverage to rank the top 10 cities for singles in the United States. We created a scoring system factoring in data of single-person households from Statista.com and search interest scores from Google Trends for “dating apps” between Oct. 25, 2023-Oct. 25, 2024.

Where Denver Ranks For Singles
If you find yourself looking for a partner and need a change of scenery, you could do a whole lot worse than moving to the Mile High City, with our metrics showing Denver as the ninth best city in America for single people to live in.
Nationally, Denver ranked immediately behind Chicago, which scored 107 points, while finishing ahead of the glimmering Midwest metropolis known as Toledo, Ohio. The national leaders were cities like Cleveland, which scored 121 points to finish atop our list, while Pittsburgh (120 points), Detroit (119 points), St. Louis (116 points) and Cincinnati (115 points) rounded out the U.S. top five for singles in 2024.
At No. 6 was the Big Easy itself, with the epicenter of partying in American culture scoring 114 points to rank sixth nationally, while Atlanta was the other city that cracked the top 10, finishing seventh nationally with 112 points in total.
Still, few cities in the country can offer the bounty of activities and perks that Colorado’s capital can, which is why Denver is among the best metros in the nation for single men and women right now.
