With Year One of the Sean Payton era in Denver on the precipice of kickoff and expectations on the rise, it’s no surprise many fans are cashing in on the club’s future prospects on CO sports betting sites.
Between the team’s new coach and a reconfigured roster that includes free agent signings like veteran offensive lineman Mike McGlinchey, defensive end Dre’Mont Jones and guard Ben Powers and the success Payton brings — there’s no doubt the Broncos should rebound from their dismal 5-12 campaign last season.
Ahead of the Broncos’ opening kickoff, BetColorado.com utilized Statista’s 2022 “Attitudes Toward Sports Betting” survey of NFL fans with 1,020 respondents to find the NFL fanbases with the most backers who claim to be a “sports betting user.”
It should be noted our findings are just a sample size of NFL fans who claimed to be a fan of a specific NFL team. The percentage represents how many people are sports bettors out of the sample.
NFL Fanbases Who Bet The Most
Despite all the offseason changes, the Broncos Super Bowl odds are still in the middle of the pack at +5000.
Where Broncos Fans Stack Up
It shouldn’t be much of a surprise that a state with such an established sports betting market would host a fanbase that’s active.
That’s why it’s likely of little shock Broncos fans ranked in a tie for 11th (along with fans of the Ravens, 49ers and Vikings) in sports betting user percentage, coming in at 3%.
With Colorado raking in more than $12 billion in wagering handle since the state launched sports betting in 2020, fan adoption of sports betting is a no-brainer.
Broncos fans should have plenty of opportunities to find betting value on the squad this fall, with BetMGM Sportsbook Colorado giving the club +200 odds of making the playoffs (compared to -250 odds that they won’t), along with a win total over/under of 8.5.
For reference, Denver last hit the eight-win mark in 2016, when the Broncos went 9-7 under then coach Gary Kubiak, a year after Denver won the Super Bowl over the Panthers.
Now, it’s up to Payton and veteran quarterback Russell Wilson to get the Broncos back into the postseason for the first time since that 2015 championship run. While Wilson cashes in on touchdowns this season, make sure you're cashing in on Colorado sportsbook promotions throughout the year, too.
