Colorado’s Top Five Holiday Drinks

Fact Checked by Nate Hamilton

When it comes to getting into the holiday spirit, nothing gets Coloradans into the mood quite like a good spirit, with Christmas classics like eggnog, wassail, mulled wine, hot toddies and peppermint mochas being the top drinks for the last holiday of the year.

Leading the way in 2024 in the Centennial State, holiday drink-wise, was eggnog, which dwarfed the rest of the spirits competition with a search interest score of 21 points in Colorado, ranking 16 points ahead of the next closest cordial (wassail, at 5).

BetColorado.com took a holiday break from Colorado sports betting to get into the holiday spirit by seeing what holiday-themed drinks are the most popular in Colorado. Using Google Trends, we conducted a search between September 19, 2024- December 18, 2024, to rank drinks by search interest scores.

Which Holiday Drink Do Colorado Residents Prefer?

When it comes to holiday drinks, it seems like Colorado natives have their minds made up, with eggnog scoring a decisive victory this Christmas, while the mulled cider drink known as wassail was second, beating out the three-headed mix of mulled wine, hot toddies, and peppermint mochas.

In total, wassail scored five search interest points in Colorado, while the other three holiday drinks notched search interest totals of four points apiece to round out the Rocky Mountain State’s list of top festive drinks this Christmas season.

At the end of the day, no drink held the type of sway that eggnog did, with the custard concoction that dates back to the late 19th century scoring a decisive victory when it came to Colorado’s top holiday drinks in the year of our lord 2024.
